Everything has changed dramatically, especially in turns of character development :/ and because of this, it suddenly doesn’t feel as exciting anymore. Perhaps because it’s become… predictable?
Shu finally snaps after Hare’s death and decides to become a crazy tyrant. Understandable considering the circumstances. But for him not to hesitate for even a moment after finding out the truth behind the void’s relation to death if broken was just… not him. At all. The fact that he only opened up with Inori… that’s understandable as well, he likes her and all, she seems to reciprocate, and they’re both having a rough time with the current situation. BUT, for us only to have received a glimpse of Shu’s true self when he was amidst a battle, and that he immediately pushed the thought away…. was kind of sad. Predictable. But sad nonetheless. I miss the old Shu, the heart filled Shu, not this raging maniac who only cares about succeeding Gai and is screwing up in the process. But well… he got a reality check when FAKE Gai (YES. FAKE. I maintain my theory that the Gai that appeared just now is but a clone of the real thing, I mean look at him, he barely resembles the real Gai, in both appearance and personality) cut off his arm and power source. So back to being humble for you Shu.
As for Arisa… I’ll admit it surprised me to find out she was alive. But her plotting for the revolution, and the way it all worked out, did not. The only thing that took me aback from this whole process was the fact that she actually sold herself for intel. Which was disgusting, I expected you had more class than that Arisa :/ I’m disappointed. Another character that drastically changed and seems but a ghost of the old “save ALL the students, guarded, unreachable and classy” Arisa. The timing she used for the revolution was interesting. BUT. It made sense, so fairly predictable once you figured out the reasoning.
Yahiro… dude I’m glad you stopped denying that you are very much to blame for this mess. Had you not forced Shu into this cruel system of classification, and not lied to him, half of the characters wouldn’t be in the place they are now. I was glad when Shu accused you. Because you deserved it, Sugar.
Souta… :( I honestly really do feel bad for you. You were one of the secondary characters I liked the most, and they all really just screwed you over :/ I fail to comprehend why Shu never thought of using Souta’s void for opening up the wall in the first place, instead of treating him like trash. Had an escape plan been thought out beforehand, and Yahiro had not insisted in his discriminative order, Souta would’ve been so helpful… and not a crazy person who is so scared of death that he was willing to throw Shu, who used to be his friend and who Souta really cared about before everything crashed into nothingness, into his doom.
Inori… I’m still trying to figure you out. Just…. WHAT ARE YOU? I still support my theory of you being Mana’s clone…. but when compared to this FAKE Gai… you’re not like him. At all. So I admit, I have my doubts. But thank you, for standing by Shu. You’re basically the only character I plan to speak of that I think hasn’t gone into the depths of madness.
Anyhow… the revolution was obvious, and the reason’s understandable, Shu didn’t apply his leadership correctly, he was doing better at first, EVEN IF he was being indecisive //sigh. As for the UN bombing Japan… that’d be a waste of resources, if you asked me. Just stop sending in any help at all, in terms of services and basic supplies and Japan would auto destruct all by itself, with all the internal issues. But I guess they’re putting that in to tense up the story line a bit. Let’s see how that goes.
/end rant.
